Nature Photography

Dwayne's best friend Dan came for a visit last weekend. After church, lunch, and a quiet hour of rest, we all took a walk in Putnam Park on Sunday afternoon. I took the pictures above of fronds unfurling and an old dogwood tree we found along the path with my cell phone camera. Dan brought his excellent camera and took pictures of birds in our yard and along the path of our walk. They are shown below.

Having detailed images of the birds he saw allowed him to reference pictures as he looked in his field guides to identify the birds. We have a such a difficult time remembering the details of the birds we see, so we usually have to see the same bird several times before we are certain we know what it is called. These images and the ease with which they make referencing field guides make me want to buy a nice camera!
