I took Norah to dinner and a movie, McDonald's and then Toy Story 3 in 3D. Dwayne watched the baby so she and I could go. It was fun to be together alone. I hadn't realized she needed it, but the dynamic between us has been noticeably different, noticeably sweeter in the last few days. Even this morning, Dwayne was saying that he thinks Norah's love language is "quality time." He's absolutely right. But, I think he could go even further and say her love language is "undivided attention." We'll have to be deliberate to try and spend more time with her without her baby sister in the future.

My kids thrive on getting a little one-on-one attention and Jeff and I are always trying to remind ourselves of that. Since they're generally together, it's important for us to PLAN to separate them occasionally. When we do, we're always pleasantly surprised by how easy and fun it is to concentrate on just one child at a time!
