We went hiking in Kettletown State Park again yesterday.

We usually follow the Crest Trail down till it meets the Pomperaug Trail and then go back up.

But this time we kept going all the way down the Pomperaug to the Charcoal Hearth.

That's where we stopped for a picnic before following the Pomperaug all the way back up. The pebble bottom was smooth and shallow for several feet out from the shore, so we let Norah take off her jeans and splash in the waves made by the boats.

Norah has a homemade rice crispy treat while she dries off and watches the boats go by.

That's my mountain goat!
